Annika Socolofsky is a singer, fiddler, and composer based in Princeton, New Jersey. Her music draws upon the timbral nuance and variation of the human voice in numerous traditions, including Yiddish, Scottish, and American folk, as well as electronic and contemporary classical music. She is currently working on her first solo album, “Trespass,” a genre-defiant universal narrative of womanhood.

As a vocalist, Annika has worked with a wide array of musical mentors and collaborators including Sarah Jarosz, Hanneke Cassel, Lori Watson, Sandeep Das (of The Silk Road Ensemble), Alan Bern (of Brave Old World), cimbalom player Nick Tolle, and The Deliquesce Quartet. A native of Edinburgh, Annika has returned to Scotland numerous times to study traditional music with fiddler Eilidh Steel. Back in the US, she frequents Irish and Scottish sessions in the New York-Philadelphia area, and can be heard with avant-folk band Ensoleil and contra dance band Trees With Wings. Annika has attended KlezKanada for four years as a scholarship student, Yiddish Summer Weimar for two years, and the Silk Road Ensemble Global Musicians Workshop.

Annika is currently pursuing a PhD in Composition at Princeton University. She holds a master's in Composition from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s from Carnegie Mellon University.

She is a firm believer that no good breakfast can start without a good, strong cup of tea.
